Most people think that to lose weight you have to eat less. This is I think one the biggest misunderstandings in the weight loss world. One of the biggest reasons that you are growing fat in places that you don’t want, like the thighs, belly and butt, is that you’re getting a shortage of important substances that your body needs. This is caused by eating too little food.
It’s your hormones that determine where your body fat is been placed. In this case, by eating too little food, there will be a disbalance in your hormones. This is the main reason that your hormones are storing fat at one specific place (and it’s never the right one, that’s for sure).
So what can you do about it?
The first thing is that you stop starving yourself. Most diets are aimed at eating as little food as possible, but as I described this is definitely not going to help you lose weight. What you need to do is, you need to make some adjustments in your habits. It’s not about eating less, it’s about knowing what to eat and why some products just make you gain weight.
For starters, you will have to stop eating cookies and candy, it’s a cliche, but they are the ones that make you fat. Everybody knows that, but do you know why these products do that? It’s because of the carbohydrates.
The carbohydrates that you find in cookies and candy are quickly absorbed by the body, so that they will be easily stored as fat. These carbohydrates are called simple carbohydrates. They’re the ones you need to avoid.
The carbohydrates that you need are the so called complex carbohydrates. They are the ones that are rich in fiber, minerals and vitamines. Complex carbohydrates are being slowly absorbed by the body so that the chance that they will be stored as fat is little.
A few examples of products that are full of complex carbohydrates are brown rice, wholemeal bread and potatoes.
Simple carbohydrates give you a quick energy boost, while complex carbohydrates will give you long-term energy.
An exception to the simple carbohydrates is fruit. Fruit is listed in the category of simple carbohydrates, but as they also are also high in fiber and vitamines they are excellent for use when you want to lose weight.
It’s important that you concentrate on eating the right things. You know the sentence ‘You are what you eat’ and that’s not just made up. It’s true, if you are going to eat healthier you’re actually going to feel a whole lot better plus you will get rid of you obesity.
